early careers film

A high energy, quick-cut film, reminiscent of the opening credits to a Guy Ritchie movie, where we invite our audience to meet current Capital One graduates – from different backgrounds, on different programmes, pursuing different ambitions.

Each one is introduced with a short live action clip that captures them as they go about their day. We then freeze the frame and overlay their image with block colour graphics, and text, which tells us their name and ONE thing about them.

Together, these snapshots give us an insight into graduate careers at Capital One, the work our grads do, the benefits they enjoy and the impact they make. At the same time, we can tackle a few common misconceptions, and generally build a picture of life here.

Our pay-off celebrates the individuality of the graduates featured, but highlights how they’re all here to make a difference.

film inspiration

A great overall reference to the look and feel is the opening credits from the movie ‘Snatch’, directed by Guy Ritchie.

Fast-paced and quick-cut with interesting scene transitions, we would be featuring 6 hero graduates in quirky and humorous scenarios while also highlighting their characters and personalities, the supportive work environment and what Capital One stands for through the freeze frames, tying it all back to the campaign slogan, ‘One Good Thing’.

transitions

Reference 1.1

Reference 1.2

Reference 1.3

The main transitions we’ll be using are the ones shown in Reference 1.0 (slide 6) with the use of Reference 1.1 sparingly. In Reference 1.1, we’ll have some scenes where the camera follows the subject in focus until their freeze frame, then have the next subject walk into the scene for the camera to then follow them until their freeze frame. Using this technique in a couple of scenes will help give a continuous, story-like feel to the video.

Other transitions we’ll be using are quick cuts and jump shots (Reference 1.2) as well as whip/swish pan shots (Reference 1.3).

These transitions balance with slower paced scenes for comedic effect, as well as keep the snappy, punchy energy of the film going without it feeling overwhelming.
